Penelope Birnbaum

I am interested in intersections between science, technology and politics. I have worked in a biology lab that looked at the genetics of seasonal reproduction in flowering and non-flowering plants and worked to map out their evolutionary development. I also work for a law professor whose research focus is on the role of the bystander, and advocates for a policy that criminalizes bystanders who work to perpetuate abuse. I am excited to begin to intern with GIG and further my curiosity at these intersections of various fields.
