re:publica is Europe’s largest festival dedicated to improving digital society. Each year, it brings together more than 10,000 professionals and enthusiasts from diverse industries across technology, activism, business, media, science, and the arts to explore the impact of digitisation on our world.
GIG curates and hosts the conference's annual makerspace – a hands-on and community-driven space which includes a repair café, a kid's corner for young makers, exhibitions and more—all exploring how frugal and digital innovation can address pressing sustainability challenges.

Beyond re:publica: A week of social innovation
|
|
|
|
We've also planned several activities beyond the re:publica conference throughout the week. This extended program ensures our members visiting from Africa, Asia, and South America can connect meaningfully with each other and with Berlin's innovation ecosystem:

Circularity & Regenerative Practices Community Event
A dynamic showcase of open, circular, and regenerative innovation worldwide. GIG members will explore themes like climate protection, repair culture, regenerative learning, and more.

Berlin Innovation Tour
A visit to social-driven innovation spaces, including the VORN Sustainable Fashion Hub with its urban micro-knitting factory.

|
|
|
|
Community Knowledge Exchange
A full day of peer learning and workshops at our office’s event space, provided by the GIG community, partners, and friends.
