AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2024

This year’s AfriLabs Annual Gathering in Cape Town, themed “Uniting Innovation,” served as a pivotal convergence for African and global innovators. The event hosted a dedicated makerspace track for the first time, with GIG contributing to its creation. Over three days, participants attended panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions designed to catalyze cross-border synergies and foster investments in Africa's digital economy. GIG’s own Geraldine hosted the "Makerspaces, Policy Recommendations, and Business Models" session presented on the main stage, and Fadia moderated a panel on "The Importance of Establishing a Makerspaces Network in Africa."
