Tips for Crafting the Perfect Profile

Profile Picture:

A good profile picture is essential! Choose an image where you appear approachable and professional, helping others connect with you.

“Why are you GIG?” Section

This section is all about you. Share your story, passions, and unique qualities that make you a valuable part of GIG. Focus on:

  • What drives your work?
  • Your key areas of interest and expertise.
  • Why do you resonate with GIG’s mission?

Avoid detailing your organisation or projects here—focus on you.

Initiative Section: “About It”

When describing your initiative, aim for clarity and conciseness. Highlight:

  • The purpose and impact of your initiative.
  • Key achievements or milestones.
  • What sets your project apart?

Add relevant visuals, such as

  • Photos of your projects in action.
  • Links to videos, interviews, or other media showcasing your work.

Complete All Fields

While not all fields are mandatory, filling in as much information as possible helps others understand your work and facilitates collaboration. Use the visibility settings to manage who can view each section.

Visibility Settings

You can choose who can see each part of your profile:

  • Everyone: Visible to the public.
  • All Members: Visible to the GIG community only.
  • Only Me: Private to you.

Consider making most fields visible to everyone, but limit sensitive information like contact details to “All Members” for a balance of privacy and accessibility.

Publishing Your Profile

Once your profile is complete, check the Agreements to the platform policies and click the Submit button. Your profile will be published on the GIG website when you are an official member. Regularly update your profile to reflect your latest achievements and projects.
