After consulting with key players in different sectors of the Blue Economy in Canada, we, at, Brilliant Labs, have recently launched the Brilliant Blue Challenge. A global annual ocean innovation competition for high school students that is endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. The inaugural competition was held virtually in December 2023, and we plan to have it in person starting this summer. To learn more about the program, please check out the deck (Materials to be updated soon).

The competition was a success, showcasing the incredible creativity and dedication of young minds, from all over the world, toward ocean innovation. In its inaugural year, we had 22 teams participating from 14 countries participate in the Brilliant Blue Challenge. Check out this article for one of the Canadian teams’ interviews.
