We’re excited to kick off our first community call of 2026 with a conversation on circular and regenerative fashion systems. Join makers, designers, innovators, and researchers from around the world to explore powerful approaches to sustainability in fashion and material innovation.
Co-hosted by Global Innovation Gathering (GIG) and the Fab City Foundation (FCF) as part of our rotating 2026 series, we will hear from two incredible practitioners from Indonesia and China who are pushing boundaries in material innovation and sustainable fashion. This session is for everyone interested in circular systems that restore and regenerate!

Speakers
Irene Agrivina, XXLab
Irene will share the story and practice of XXLab, an all-female collective from Yogyakarta, Indonesia that works at the intersection of art, science, and technology through open-source research. She will present Soya C(o)u(l)ture, a long-term project that turns tofu wastewater into zero-waste bio-materials for fashion and craft, and reflect on how community-driven innovation creates new knowledge, materials, and opportunities for women in science and technology.
Xiaoli Ding, RESOON
From Shenzhen, China, Xiaoli will introduce RESOON’s mission to transform the outdoor industry through a closed-loop ecosystem that turns waste into resources, design into regeneration, and action into measurable carbon impact. RESOON is building China’s first traceable, regenerative outdoor fashion ecosystem through textile-to-textile (T2T) recycling and digital empowerment to inspire global supply-chain transformation.
The discussion will be moderated by Daan Sonnemans from Fab City Foundation.
