| About your organisation | Mãe d’Água is a popular name in Brazilian culture and mythology. An Orixá, a “encantada”, a fantastic entity that inhabits and also protects the Seas and Oceans. The project was born in 2012 as a TAZ (Temporary Autonomous Zone), focused on experimentation with critical technologies, rooted in the principles of MetaReciclagem. Mãe d’Água is a water quality monitoring proposal that uses technology as a pretext to remind us that “people are what matter most.” In 2025, the initiative re-emerges as a diverse laboratory that connects people and cross-cutting themes. We are based at the Human Ecology Laboratory at Santa Cecília University – UNISANTA, in Santos, Brazil. |
