Junge Tüftler gGmbH is a non-profit educational organization with the aim of empowering people to actively and sustainably shape the world with digital tools. They combine tech skills with the pedagogical approach of maker education and the future topic of sustainability. With the hybrid learning concept TüftelLab, children and young people as well as teachers or other extracurricular learning locations can tinker on site, digitally on the learning platform TüftelLab digital or with materials. With their TüftelLab School program, they work in partnership with schools over a period of three years to set up and operate their own makerspaces and implement the teaching and learning content. Currently, the team runs several own makerspaces and supports partners in doing so across Germany.
The learning content of the TüftelLab deals with technological skills, including quantum and AI. In various projects, such as the KI Box Klima or the DATIpilot project KITrans, the team is working on bringing scientific and other AI expertise to schools in low-threshold teaching and learning formats.
