Our core activities include: -Upskilling initiatives like the Design Academy, focusing on circular design, digital tools, and sustainable entrepreneurship -Lab & knowledge space such as SHIFT – The Microfactory & materials library -European research, education, and policy collaborations & Designer and researcher-in-residence programs -Scaling and internationalization programs that support market access for emerging innovators |

| About the project | SHIFT – The Microfactory is VORN’s pixel-to-product microfactory for circular knitwear. It redefines the traditional fashion production model from design–make–sell to design–sell–make, enabling on-demand manufacturing based on actual demand. The microfactory integrates digital design, automated knitting, and post-consumer textile recycling to advance closed-loop manufacturing. As a materials and product R&D lab, prototyping and small batch production facility, and education hub, SHIFT supports designers, researchers, and innovators in developing scalable solutions for a circular and regenerative fashion system. |
